Heather DurkinLicensed Massage TherapistLicense # 4688-146
Heather most enjoys helping clients with specific problems, whether that be recovery after an accident or chronic pain that has been difficult to manage. She holds certifications in sports massage and massage therapy for fibromyalgia, which makes Heather an ideal therapist for athletes and fibromyalgia sufferers. She can also perform the Raindrop Technique®, which combines unique, targeted massage with pure, authentic essential oils.
In working with clients recovering from injury, Heather finds it very rewarding to see the improved daily function and increased mobility that can come from massage therapy. Heather’s massage technique includes a firm touch, and she frequently uses compression, stretching and trigger point therapy in her sessions. Heather’s training, along with these techniques, create particularly good results for those with hip and/or gluteal issues, chronic neck and shoulder stiffness, low back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, and extreme stress. She also has experience working with people receiving chemotherapy treatments, and personalizes her technique to bring them the most relief.
Heather attended both Lakeside School of Massage Therapy and East-West Healing Arts Institute, and has been a Licensed Massage Therapist for over 8 years. Before attending massage school, Heather worked in healthcare as a home health aide and CNA for adults with dementia and other disabilities.
Absolutely stellar, healing, and reviving care! The expertise of Heather, my massage therapist, and the welcome of all the staff ensure that I'll return multiple times during my sojourn here in Madison!- Bethany B.
