Surya specializes in teaching different styles of yoga that can help you achieve balance while soothing and quieting your nervous system. She is a perceptive and experienced instructor who will encourage you to reach beyond your comfort zones, while also providing safe, less challenging options as needed.
As someone who has lost 100 pounds, Surya empathizes with students who may feel intimidated by their weight. She has also experienced first-hand how yoga can manage anxiety, and enjoys helping others do the same.
Surya came to yoga ten years ago to manage her anxiety. Through yoga, she has found the tools she needs to manage her emotional upheavals, and has learned to quiet her mind through the practice of postures. She dramatically changed her and her family’s health as a result of her study and increased understanding of healthy eating habits and exercise.
Surya received her instructor certification at Kanyakumari Yoga and Ayurveda in 2015. She also provides ayurvedic counseling and understands how and when to use Young Living essential oils.
“Yoga is my path and passion,” she says. “I will forever be grateful for the gift of yoga that has given me the tools of daily living. My only hope and desire is to pass it on to seekers who wish to explore this path of practice with me.”
